President & Chief Executive Officer
Matthew Jewett has over 20 years of experience in the Medical Device industry spanning general management, commercial leadership, and business development roles. The majority of his career has been with Johnson & Johnson including DePuy Synthes, Codman, and Ethicon. Most recently, Mr. Jewett led the DePuy Synthes Mitek Sports Medicine & Shoulder Reconstruction business. His previous start-up experience includes Salient Surgical which was acquired by Medtronic. Mr. Jewett earned a Bachelor of Science from the University of Vermont and a Master of Business Administration from Duke University.
Michael Brenzel has over 25 of years experience as an innovator and leader in new product development. Prior to co-founding Conventus, Mr. Brenzel has worked for St. Jude Medical, Restore Medical, Guidant, BF Goodrich Aerospace and M&M/Mars. He is a named inventor on over 100 patents. Mr. Brenzel has a Bachelor of Aerospace Engineering and Mechanics degree from the University of Minnesota and a Master of Business Administration in Management of New Ventures from the University of St. Thomas.
Chief Financial Officer
With more than 17 years in Industry, Jonathan Isenburg brings a diverse and deep set of skills in financial leadership and management to Conventus. Mr. Isenburg also brings previous CFO experience to Conventus. Prior to joining Conventus, he led a cardiovascular imaging start-up through a dual-track IPO M&A process that culminated in a sale to a publicly traded strategic buyer. Earlier in his career, Mr. Isenburg worked in a number of public accounting and financial consulting roles. Mr. Isenburg earned his Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from UMASS – Amherst and a graduate business degree in Investment Management from Boston University. Mr. Isenburg was formerly licensed as a CPA in Massachusetts.
Vice President – Quality, Regulatory and Clinical
Kent Lind has over 25 years of medical device experience, spearheading Regulatory, Quality, and Clinical efforts for newly developed products in cardiology, gastroenterology and urology. Mr. Lind worked for St. Jude Medical, Torax Medical, Sinus Rhythm Technologies, and Urologix. Most recently, Mr. Lind was Vice-President of Quality and Regulatory for Torax Medical, where he was responsible for defining and performing clinical and regulatory submissions (Competent Authority, Ethics Committee, CE Mark, IDE/PMA) and defining and implementing the quality system. Mr. Lind received a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Engineering from St. Cloud State University.
Vice President – Marketing
Tracy Martellotta brings nearly 20 years of medical device marketing experience in orthopaedic, biologic and neurovascular businesses. Ms, Martellotta’s experiences include leadership of global, commercial and strategic marketing, as well as business development with both start up and large companies such as DePuy, Olympus and Stryker. Ms. Martellotta earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Bioengineering from Syracuse University and a Master of Science in Biomedical Engineering from University of Virginia.
Vice President – R&D and Operations
Mike Mazzio has more than 30 years in the Medical Device industry ranging from OB-GYN, Orthopaedics and Craniomaxillofacial (CMF). He spent over 27 years with Synthes, now Depuy Synthes, in various new product development roles leading the global Trauma & Craniomaxillofacial R&D teams. He has collaborated in the development of plating systems, external fixators and intramedullary nails with surgeon designers; especially working within the AO Foundation. Most recently Mike served as the President of Synthes CMF overseeing R&D, Marketing and Sales. Mike holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from Drexel University and a Master of Business Administration from the Pennsylvania State University.
Vice President – US Sales
Buck Weller has more than 15 years of experience in various sales and sales leadership roles in the Medical Device Industry. Much of his time has been spent bringing new technologies to market for companies including ConMed, Salient Surgical, and Vapotherm, Inc. Most recently, he held the role of Vice President, US Sales for Vapotherm where he had 30%+ revenue growth each year and built a direct sales force of 80+ employees. Mr. Weller holds a BA in Industrial Relations from the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill where he was a varsity football letterman.
